In contemporary times, stress is something which is etched in all of us and is actually felt by everyone, but when it comes to consider it as a serious problem, only 0.01% of people across the globe focus on its cure and speaking of our country India, the situation is even more worse. For instance, if someone is facing or has faced a traumatic experience and he or she gets open about it, most of the people consider them as mentally retarded and declare them mentally unstable or make fun of their experience. Moreover, our government too does not put necessary efforts in this regard.

India currently has the largest population of youth among all nations, and it is predicted that the world will be lead by its young generation, but half of the aforementioned populace is suffering from bad mental health due to various reasons like poverty, poor family relations, the judgemental society and many more.

Now let us discuss about our mind which plays an imperative role in all these situations. Our brain process all these things and keeps generating unneeded thoughts like "what would be the outcome of my immediate actions?", and the unceasing contemplation of such thoughts leads to a state called stress.

It is unknown to us as to where these thoughts are coming from, and more often than not, in crucial stages of life, this incessant pondering triggers nervousness and reduces the effectiveness to tackle oncoming problems. And finally we reach at a state of numbness and confusion, and consider ourselves a failure which remains as a persistent stain throughout our life.

So friends, I have a simple solution, a BREATHING EXERCISE. If you have a sound knowledge of psychology, you might be aware of the fact that there is a deep relation between breathing and the brain. If we stop breathing, the brain will automatically stop functioning, so, whenever you feel stressed or confused, just focus on your breathing. Keep your eyes closed, inhale through nose and exhale through your mouth, each being about 5 sec long. After a minute, you will realise an ambience of calmness and comfort and ultimately this little exercise make us stronger to tackle any problem efficiently.

The Prabhav© is an independent organisation that works towards forming an ideal society where people are aware of their own mental health, as much as their physical health. We provide lots of ideas to deal with day-to-day problems, and recommend you to make us a supporting pillar in your life. Furthermore, you can also join us to help others out of the hell hole known as stress.
